WHY
The milKit system was devised in Switzerland after a mountain bike ride in Moab, USA was cut short due to a flat tyre and dried-out sealant. A simple puncture that would easily have sealed, had the sealant still been effective. This is a problem that anyone used to riding tubeless will understand.
The founder, product development engineer and mountain biker Pius Kobler decided to solve this problem and invented milKit. Together with a team of biking enthusiasts and experienced entrepreneurs Pius founded the company Sport Components Ltd. Their aim is to ease the everyday lives of mountain bikers, cyclists and other athletes with innovative products, and to become a leading provider of smart bicycle solutions.
Sport Components Ltd went to crowdfunding site Indegogo in 2016 with the first product, the innovative valve and syringe system. They blew through their $25k funding target in a month, with hundreds of cyclists keen to solve a universal problem.
Not content to rest on their laurels, the next product, the milKit Booster for more efficient tire inflation, won a Eurobike Award in september 2019.

Die Idee für milKit entstand auf einer Mountainbike-Tour in den USA. Ein platter Tubeless-Reifen aufgrund ausgetrockneter Dichtmilch sorgte für eine unerwartete Pause. Ein Problem, das viele Tubeless-Fahrer kennen. Der Produktentwicklungsingenieur und begeisterte Mountainbiker Pius Kobler war Zwischenfälle dieser Art leid und entschloss sich, etwas dagegen zu unternehmen – in den folgenden Monaten entwickelte er milKit. Mit einem Team aus leidenschaftlichen Mountainbikern und erfahrenen Unternehmern gründete er die Firma Sport Components AG. Ziel ist es, das Leben von Mountainbikern und anderen Sportlern mit innovativen Produkten einfacher zu machen und ein führender Anbieter von Fahrradkomponenten zu werden.
